The Power of Sunsets
As I crossed the street on my way home from class earlier than usual this past Wednesday, I couldn’t help but stop dead in my tracks to capture a photo of the view before me, the sunset. It was a deep orange and pink with sparks of purple that enveloped the sky and went into the trees. When everyone around me pulled out their phones to snap a photo, I knew we were looking at a good one.
Once I got home, instantly in a better mood, I couldn’t stop thinking about how just for a moment, everyone looked up from whatever they were doing and all of their worries to appreciate the sunset. This experience and seeing the Instagram photo challenge “join if you are awwww look at the sky person” shows the admiration many have for sunsets.

I don’t usually take the time to stop and admire life around me, all that I have accomplished so far, and what is to come. So my advice for the day is dedicated to the seniors and those having big changes come their way: find the time in your day to breathe, regroup and appreciate the little things in the best way that works for you. Many changes are coming soon and the best way to brace for them while enjoying the time you have left is to remember that a happy life is just a series of happy moments and life is filled with so many small wins.
